Wright & Wright Solicitors, creators or hairlaw.co.uk and supporters of the Salon Smart event, are launching a brand new legal service for salon owners.
Julian Sampson, legal adviser for Salon Smart TV, comments,
“We have acted for hair salons since the early 90’s but in the last 7 years we decided that the industry needed a clear focus and the law and lawyers weren’t providing the dedicated bespoke service that salons required. The rise and rise of the franchised salon, the development of academy training and the resources thrown into business development by the large product brands such as L’Oreal or Goldwell all pointed towards a blossoming industry.
Salon owners have become business managers and rightly demand more from their professional service suppliers. Associations like HSBA or the NHF have offered this support and now the trade press is also running business support programmes like Salon Smart or HEAD for Business.
At Wright & Wright we chose to design a service unique in the country. Hairlaw.co.uk and the SalonSupport service was born. This was launched at the Salon Smart event in 2008 and is already being extended across our existing client salons.”
The legal service is split into two dependent on salon size and budgets - both work on an annual contract basis and both are dedicated solely to the business of running a hair salon.
The Gold SalonSupport service is an entry level service designed which enables Wright & Wright to provide basic advice to the salon across the spectrum of salon and business issues. This might cover lease renewals or chair rental, for example.
The Gold scheme can then be combined with the employwright Service which extends the above SalonSupport into a more detailed coverage of employment issues and disputes. This is combined with an insurance cover which protects the salon against costly fees and awards at Tribunal.
Julian says, “We hope that this service leads to a long and successful relationship with each of our salons. In providing this we are committed to working with salon owners- we want owners to see us a source of positive advice, not just to use us for fire fighting problems.”
